What is the most important trait for success?
It’s a good question because if you can identify the number one thing successful people do and do the same, it stands to reason you should also enjoy success.
So, what is the key to success?
Well, after speaking to and working with over 320,000 entrepreneurs over the past 15 years, I’ve identified what I believe is the Essential Trait for Success.
I believe this trait transcends things such as industry type, education levels or even time in business.
You see, the Marketers Club attracts entrepreneurs from a wide array of fields and backgrounds, but the most successful members, the ones who enjoy the biggest leaps in profit and performance, all share this one critical trait in common.
And if you want to also rapidly transform your results, then you’ll need to examine how well you embody this trait.
The #1 Trait For Success
All of the most successful entrepreneurs I’ve studied, known and worked with share one unmistakable trait in common – they are action takers.
These people recognise that it is foolish to think that things will just happen for them. Instead they get busy making things happen.
Most start (like any entrepreneur) with little more than the drive to succeed, a hunger to build a great business and an unwavering belief in their ability to make it happen.
But they are willing to do more than just the work; they are willing to make decisions, often bold ones, and then act on them.
Being an action taker means to be willing to actively implement the ideas, information and resources at your disposal.
If you want to take an ACTION that can dramatically improve your business, then join me at one of my FREE Marketing Mastery workshops as I complete a national tour.
In the Marketers Club, we teach a principle called the 3A’s to Acceleration.
The first A is Awareness.
The fact is, you can’t know what you don’t know.
First you must become aware of options, possibilities, and opportunities to do something different. The best entrepreneurs have a thirst for knowledge and are always looking to broaden their scope of awareness.
The key, however, is while generating great awareness is an essential part of advancing your business, for most this stage can be a trap.
In the speaking and seminar world, people who find themselves trapped in this stage are often referred to as Seminar Junkies.
People who are always seeking more information, filling up their calendar with event after event, but never really implementing anything they learn.
Continuous education is essential, but education without application is ultimately a waste of time.
The second A is Application.
After learning a new concept or idea, the next challenge is working out how to apply it in your business.
This becomes the second sticking point for many entrepreneurs as they struggle to translate a concept into a reality.
This phase is often associated with the idea of SHINY OBJECT SYNDROME.
The entrepreneur is drawn in by what appears to be a foolproof idea. It’s going to be their ticket to success. The latest shiny toy is going to make life easy and soon the money will be rolling in. That is at least in principle!
Perhaps you’ve been there?
Most of us have at some stage.
But the promise of more success, money, or time, are quickly replaced by a sense of frustration that there are no MAGIC BULLETS!
The truth is, the application stage takes energy, effort and focus. It also needs to be part of a strategic plan that is helping to align all your marketing efforts.
If you want to FAST TRACK your ability to move from awareness to application, join me at Marketing Mastery.
The third A is Action.
This is the domain of the most successful entrepreneurs.
They become aware of an idea or concept worth pursuing. They then get business doing the work to find the specific application for their business and then do what few others are willing to do.
TAKE MASSIVE AND CONSISTENT ACTION!
Opportunity is often knocking but most are too busy sweating the small stuff, or too afraid to answer the call.
WHY?
Because the reality is taking action comes with risk.
It might be the risk of making a mistake, losing some money, or heading in the wrong direction.
In my world, the most successful members I work with live by our motto of Ready Fire Aim.
Unlike most people, successful entrepreneurs are not content with AIMING to do things; they are committed to FIRING to taking action.
As a business owner you have two distinct choices available to you.
- You can choose to get busy creating results or
- You can focus on defending your excuses.
Both demand time and energy, but one pathway leads to a life of plenty while the other to a life of lack.
When you choose to defend your excuses, you create a major roadblock in your business and almost certainly eliminate any possibility for things to change.
The fact is most small businesses don’t work; that’s why the business owner has to.
If you are ready to start working smarter instead of harder, you first need to avoid making excuses.
Ultimately the results that successful people enjoy flow largely from their ATTITUDE and where they place their FOCUS.
If you are spending all your time trying to convince yourself that your business is somehow different, or that implementing changes to your business is harder for you than most, then you will make little progress.
The simple truth is you will never get enough of what you don’t want, so as long as you are focused on excuses, you will only find more…
…but if you are willing to apply what you learn, to stretch your thinking and innovate your approach, you can dramatically improve your RESULTS.
Our most successful members, the ones who have achieved extraordinary results, are those who have decided to focus their time and energy on creating greater RESULTS.
Ultimately you have to CHOOSE—Excuses or Results, you can’t have them both!
The best entrepreneurs I know are results focused and ACTION ORIENTATED!
Being an Action Taker is without doubt, the number one trait for entrepreneurial success.
So, what have you been putting off, deliberating about or sweating on? What have you been AIMING to do but for one reason or another, have been putting off?
Whatever it is, I suggest you STOP AIMING and START FIRING.
